The pharaohs were without their star man Mo Salah as coach Hector Cuper decided not to risk the Liverpool attacker.

Uruguay didn't get into the game until the second half, the South Americans struggled to find their rhythm as Luis Suarez and Edison Cavani were well monitored by the Egyptian defence.

Poor marking from a set piece caused the North Africans to concede a late goal as Jose Giminez rose above the Egyptian defenders to score the winner.
