Transfer News: PSG gets Ferran Torres, does Arsenal truly want Osimhen?

It's Friday, the 14th of August, and it's only two days to the traditional curtain raiser for the start of a new Premier League season. Suddenly, we're excited again!

As expected, we'll discuss transfers, but we also have some juicy news you may have missed. The most notable aspect is undoubtedly Lionel Messi's state of mind following the passing of his father.

It's a significant issue that needs to be addressed. Losing a loved one is a different kind of pain; Lionel Messi has dropped cryptic messages over time to suggest his playing career might be over, as he doesn't see himself continuing without his father. Our thoughts are with the greatest player to ever do it at this difficult time.

Let's jump to transfers, shall we? Word on the street is that Arsenal could be in for the Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen. Galatasaray hasn't set a fee yet for their striker, but you expect them to want more than what they paid Napoli to lure the goalscorer to Turkey.

Arsenal spent a good time chasing Vinicius Jr. The Brazilian is known for his controversial nature, and you can say the same for Bruno Guimaraes, who has already joined the Gunners. Is Arsenal entering the bad boys era?

Elsewhere in the window, we can confirm that Tottenham has sold Djed Spence to Inter Milan. The England star joins Christian Chivu's side for a total of €35m. Spurs must now look for a cover to replace one of their best players from last season.

Another one that raised a few eyebrows? Tijjani Reijnders is on his way out of Manchester City after only joining from AC Milan last summer. The Dutchman had an indifferent season at Manchester City and is now the subject of a €55m transfer to Al Qadsiah in Saudi Arabia. Strange, right?

Napoli has reached an agreement with Chelsea to loan French defender Benoit Badiashile for a whole season. The deal is a €3m loan with an option to buy for €27m. Chelsea needs to shed weight a bit, and more players are expected to leave.

Still with the Serie A former champions, Gabriel Jesus is another player who could join the Naples-based club. Arsenal wants to sell, but Napoli must free up space to accommodate the Brazilian. Romelu Lukaku has left; another attacker must depart for Jesus to complete the move.

Finally, Super Cup champions PSG will add Ferran Torres to their ranks after agreeing on a fee of €50m with Barcelona to bring the former Manchester City forward to Paris. Luis Henrique insists on matching Real Madrid's greatness by winning the Champions League three times on the bounce; he means business.
