Orellana goal lifts Valencia past Bournemouth

Fabian Orellana‘s stunning second half goal proved to be the difference as Valencia beat Bournemouth 1-0 at Vitality Stadium.

The first half saw Valencia attempt to negate the Cherries attempts to keep the ball on the deck and play football. The La Liga outfit were determined to compete with Eddie Howe‘s side, but they found themselves lucky not be behind when Jermain Defoe struck his half-volley a foot over the bar.

It would take until the 72nd minute for a goal to be scored in the match. Cherries keeper Aaron Ramsdale had just come onto the pitch, but was soon deflated after a beautiful curled effort from Orellana left him with no chance.

The south-coast club’s run of three matches unbeaten came to an end at the hands of Los Che, but they will get a chance to rectify the loss when they take on Yeovil Town on August 2.
