Watford Talisman Troy Deeney Expected to Miss Pre-Season Camp in Austria Due to Injury

Watford v Liverpool - Premier League

Troy Deeney is set to skip Watford’s pre-season training camp in Austria, after failing to recover in time from a groin injury that required minor surgery.

TalkSPORT reports that the 29-year-old English striker has suffered a setback in his rehabilitation programme, meaning he could miss not just the pre-season tour of Austria but also their friendly fixtures against Eibar of Spain on the July 22.

A reported transfer target for Premier League rivals West Brom and Leicester, the powerful forward will be seeking to get back to full fitness in time for the new season, with the Hornets kicking off the new Premier League campaign against Liverpool at Vicarage Road.

As the influential top goal scorer for the club last year with 10 goals to his name, Deeney will need to overcome this issue quickly, as new manager Marco Silva asseses his new team for the 2017/18 season.

Apart from Deeney’s absence, Silva has no new injury concerns with the Portuguese boss able to select from a healthy group of players, with recent signings Will Hughes signed from Derby and new Chelsea acquisition Nathaniel Chalobah available in Austria.

Good news also comes from the camp as long-term absentees Mauro Zarate and Roberto Pereyra also linked up with the first team in time for the team-bonding trip before ties with Eibar and Viktoria Plzen of the Czech Republic.

Who scored these famous last minute goals?

Who scored the winning goal in the 94th minute vs. QPR that won Manchester City the title in 2012?

Who scored Barcelona’s injury-time goal to knock PSG out of this year’s Champions League Quarter Final?

Who scored for the Netherlands in the 89th minute to send Argentina crashing out of the 1998 World Cup?

Who scored the all-important equalizing goal against Greece to send England through to the 2002 FIFA World Cup?

Who scored Real Madrid’s 93rd minute equalising goal against Atletico Madrid in the 2014 Champions League final to send the game into extra time?

You don’t know a thing. Better hit the history books!

Not bad, but you can do better!

Great job! You really know your football history!
