Tottenham Place £45m Price Tag on Star Full Back as Doubt Over Future Remains

Tottenham Hotspur v AFC Bournemouth - Premier League

Despite another successful season in north London, there have been rumours of several players wanting to leave Spurs this summer in search of a club who can offer a higher pay packet.

Some of those names mentioned have been England internationals Eric Dier, Dele Alli and Kyle Walker, the latter of which has been subject to interest from both Manchester United and Manchester City.

And, according to the Daily Mail, Spurs could be willing to accept offers for Walker if their £45m asking price is met.

The 26-year-old right back has not been certain of a starting spot at Spurs recently, having been rotated with fellow right-back Kieran Trippier, and there are whispers of a fall out between Walker and the Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Trippier has been preferred to Walker in a host of big games in the last month including, the FA Cup Semi Final against Chelsea; the North London Derby against Arsenal and last Sunday’s victory at home to Manchester United.

It has been rumoured that Pochettino now sees former Burnley full-back Trippier as his first choice for the right side of defence.

Walker has played over 220 games for Spurs since joining from Sheffield United back in 2009, making him one of the longest serving players in the Spurs first team.

Walker is also an England international with 25 caps to his name and represented his country at last year’s European Championships in France.

However, Mauricio Pochettino is known to give youth a chance when he see potential and may see 20-year-old full back Kyle Walker-Peters as the long term future of Spurs.

Walker-Peters would have likely played against Leicester on Thursday night, were he not in Korea with the England U20s ahead of the Under 20s World Cup.
