Neymar prepares for his 5th season at Barcelona

Catalan paper Sport have an eye opening article today, which suggests not all is as it seems for Neymar at Barcelona.

According to Sport, a number of people in Neymar’s inner circle are urging the Brazil star to leave Barcelona.

The reason for Neymar to leave Barcelona is to move away from the shadow of Leo Messi, to try to grow away from the Nou Camp and seek greater individual glory.

Neymar considering a move?

Sport suggest that whilst every summer Neymar has plenty of suitors, this summer the Barcelona star has had his head turned somewhat.

Neymar has won everything possible with Barcelona but the question is whether he can win the Ballon d’Or when he plays for the same club as Leo Messi.

Some people close to Neymar have suggested: “next to Messi you will always be second, you will always be in the shade.”

Neymar is listening to offers more intently

As a result, Neymar is listening to some of the offers that have come this summer, more intently than ever.

The likes of Manchester City, PSG, Manchester United and Real Madrid have all been linked with a move for Neymar.

Last week, Neymar was asked about leaving Barcelona, and said: “Who knows tomorrow? I am adapted, but anything can happen, who knows Manchester? Yes … or Eibar.”

Barcelona unaware of Neymar dissatisfaction

Neymar is contracted to Barcelona until June 2021. As it stands, the La Liga giants are completely unaware of any unhappiness on the part of the Brazilian.

This article in Sport might change that.

Neymar earns 15 million euros per season and his buyout clause is set at a whopping 200 million euros right now.

Surely if Brazil can win the World Cup, Neymar has a real chance of winning the Ballon d’Or out of the shadow of Neymar?
