Man City and Liverpool draw

Manchester City and Liverpool played out an entertaining draw at the Etihad yesterday, which seemed to leave both sides relatively content.

Given that City had just been dumped out of the Champions League by Monaco, Pep was probably just hoping to avoid defeat yesterday.

Liverpool, for their part, have been through a patchy run of form of late, and the draw wasn’t too bad for them either.

It was a hard fought game, and while there were no nasty incidents, there were some flashpoints, notably when Liverpool were awarded a penalty, which James Milner scored from.

City charged

The City players were incensed with the awarding of the penalty, and they probably had a point, as replays showed the Clichy appeared to get some of the ball.

But there was no justifying the way in which they harangued the ref, and the club has now been charged for failing to control its players, the FA announced this evening via a briefing.

Not exactly the crime of the century, and City will probably get away with a small fine.
