Man United now shock bookies favourites to sign Man City star

The end is nigh for Yaya Toure at Manchester City

Substituted on 65 minutes on Sunday, in Manchester City’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool, it for sure feels like the end is night for Yaya Toure at the Etihad.

The Ivorian may have been one of Manchester City’s best ever players but he is out of contract at the end of the season and there are no renewal plans as it stands.

With Pep Guardiola likely to revamp Manchester City’s squad in the summer, Toure will surely be leaving and in recent days the Ivorian has linked himself with a move across town…

Yaya: “In England it is fantastic”

Still just 33, Yaya Toure told The National after the Liverpool draw: “That is why I want to stay in England. Otherwise I go to China or wherever, because it is that type of game I want to play in.”

Toure added: “If I want to play slow, I will go maybe to Bahrain or France, to Spain or Germany where it is going to be slowed down. In England, it is fantastic. My preference is City.”

Man United in for Yaya?

The bookies, somewhat surprisingly, see the likeliest next club for Toure as being Manchester United.

The Ivorian is now just 13/8 to leave Man City for local rivals United, where the 33-year-old could link up with former Barcelona teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Next up is a move to the Chinese Super League (7/2), with a quartet of Premier League sides – Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham – priced up at 6s.

However, the bookies have all but ruled out a return to the Nou Camp, with 20/1 on offer for the midfielder to head back to Barca.

Odds on Yaya Toure’s next club

Man Utd – 13/8
Any Chinese Premier League – 7/2
Arsenal – 6/1
Liverpool – 6/1
Chelsea – 6/1
Tottenham – 6/1
Barcelona – 20/1
