Lyon’s French international striker Alexandre Lacazette has been in tremendous form in-front of goal during the 2016-17 Ligue 1 season, and has attracted some serious interest from a selection of Europe’s finest football clubs.
Liverpool are one notable outfits included in the race for highly sought-after hit-man, and according to a report from French outlet RMC, Jurgen Klopp is angling towards a summer swoop for Lacazette, who has recently confessed that he is ‘prepared’ to head for pastures new this summer, if the right club is to materialise.
The abundant 25-year-old, who has made a startling habit of breaking the 20 goal tally for three seasons running for Lyon, said: “Will this be my last few months at Lyon? It depends which teams will be on offer to me,
“I am prepared to leave, but only to make a significant leap forward. Otherwise, nothing will happen.”
Lacazette has effortlessly managed to bag 30 goals in all competitions this season for Bruno Génésio, with 24 of those strikes coming in just 27 league appearances.
The Reds have been tailing the Frenchman for a while now, and have pinpointed him as a strong target for next term, as Klopp looks to bolster his beleaguered attacking threat in readiness for a more substantial push for the Premier League title.
Although with a supposed clear-out at fellow Premier League side Arsenal looking likely this summer, Arsene Wenger has also made his admiration for the scintillating number 10 known, and could rival the Merseysiders for his signature, if he is to depart.
Le Prof’ sees Lacazette as a worthy replacement for contract rebel Alexis Sanchez, who is yet to confirm a renewed deal at the Gunners.
Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid are also said to be keen on the bountiful striker, so whether Lacazette is destined for Anfield or the Emirates – or even Germany or Spain for that matter – it will certainly be a thrilling contest for his productive services.
