Everton face competition
Leicester City are prepared to hijack Everton’s bid for Gylfi Sigurdsson, the Daily Mail report.
It’s no secret that the Icelandic midfielder wants out of Swansea City. However, the club don’t want to sell their star player and if they must, it will only be for big money. Like really big money.
They’ve already rejected a £40 million bid from Everton and the Toffees are expected to return with an improved offer. Sigurdsson has many admirers and Everton will have to contend with Leicester.
Still the favourites
The Foxes are prepared to offer Sigurdsson around £125,000-a-week. While this is a tempting offer, Everton have the means to match and surpass that pay packet. They’re still the favourites to sign the 27-year-old.
Spurs, Sigurdsson’s former club, are also keeping an eye on the chase for their old boy.
