Lazio Winger Keita Balde Diao Leaves Pre-Season Camp to Discuss Inter Milan Transfer

SS Lazio Pre-Season Training Camp

Lazio winger Keita Balde Diao is set to join Inter Milan after leaving his club’s pre-season training camp.

Keita has been heavily linked with a move away from Lazio after an impressive 2016-17 season, scoring 16 goals and contributing three assists in 31 Serie A appearances, and Premier League side Everton had been mentioned as a potential destination for the 22-year-old earlier in the summer.

However, Radio Sei believe Keita, who was absent from Lazio’s recent 9-1 friendly win against a local amateur side at their Auronzo di Cadore camp, has now left his teammates and is on the way to discuss personal terms with Luciano Spalletti’s side.

Keita is under contract with Lazio until June 2018 and has reportedly refused to sign a new contract on several occasions, with the Senegal international interesting Serie A champions Juventus, AC Milan, Ligue 1 winners Monaco and Antonio Conte’s Chelsea.

Sky Sports also believe Keita will sign for Inter, with Manchester United making progress in their bid to purchase Ivan Perisic and the three-time European Cup winners needing to sign a replacement for the Croatia international.

Inter have stepped up their pursuit of the winger and Keita will now meet with agent Roberto Calenda and a number of Nerazzurri directors, with a transfer offer believed to be in the region of over €20m.

The report claims Keita will be offered a five-year deal worth €3m-a-season as Inter step up their transfer dealings for the summer.

Inter’s San Siro rivals AC Milan have dominated transfer spending in Serie A this summer, signing the likes of Leonardo Bonucci, Hakan Calhanoglu and Ricardo Rodriguez.

Inter have goalkeeper Daniele Padelli, 18-year-old Nicolo Zaniolo, fellow teenager Jens Odgaard, midfielder Borja Valero and defender Milan Skriniar.
