Jose Mourinho & France Football

This week, leading French magazine France Football will release their new edition which headlines with Man United manager Jose Mourinho.

Ahead of the release, France Football have today posted a few excepts of the conversation on their website.

Premier League chat

Without mentioning Chelsea by name, Mourinho spelled out his belief that no one team in England can be fully dominant.

Instead of referencing the Blues, Mourinho name-dropped Man City and Liverpool, which also commenting on Bayern Munich. He said:

In England, clubs are so economically powerful that the market is open to all. Take the example of Bayern in Germany. You know when they start winning the title every year? It’s the summer before, when they buy the best player of Borussia Dortmund! Götze, then Lewandowski the following year, then Hummels last year.

Me, I arrived at a club that has a great and prestigious history, but that can no longer be dominant in the same way. No club in England, whether it’s Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City can be dominant permanently. Power has divided.

So that means Chelsea won’t be able to maintain their stranglehold on the EPL next season?

On his evolution

The front cover of France Football revealed Mourinho’s latest rebrand as the “calm one”.

The Man United boss discussed his personal evolution, revealing he’s now much more mature when it comes to being a football manager:

Find the way to disconnect. I can go home and not watch a football game, do not think football. I can do it.

At the beginning of my career, I could not. I was constantly connected, 24 hours a day. I had to find a form of maturity.

Today, I feel good with my personality as a man. I have matured, I am more peaceful. A victory no longer represents the moon, and a defeat isn’t hell.

I have the same ambitions as before. The same involvement, the same professionalism. But I’m more in control of my emotions.
