According to a growing number of reports across Italy this evening, Inter Milan are on the verge of signing versatile Lazio attacker Keita Balde Diao.
Keita, a 22-year-old Senegalese international, enjoyed a breakout campaign in the Italian top flight this past season, racking up 16 goals and 3 assists in 35 appearances for Lazio.
The goalscoring exploits of the Barcelona youth product, along with his seering pace and ability to play anywhere across the frontline, has seen interest in the youngster skyrocket in recent weeks.
Juventus, AC Milan, Tottenham, Everton and Inter Milan have all been linked with moves for Keita, with it now looking likely that the latter of these sides have won the race for his signature.
San Siro bound
Keita missed Lazio’s 9-1 friendly victory this afternoon, with reports claiming that his absence was due to the African star agreeing terms with Inter.
He is now said to be en route to the Nerazzurri’s headquarters, where he is expected to put pen-to-paper on a contract with the Milan-based club over the coming days.
Should Keita’s move go through as expected, it could well spell the end of Ivan Perisic’s stint at Inter, with the Croatian winger said to be eager to complete a heavily-touted move to long-term admirers Manchester United.
