Atletico Madrid are in advanced talks with Serie A club Sampdoria’s Colombian striker Luis Fernando Muriel for a January deal, according to a report by Tuttomercatoweb.
Los Colchoneros have reportedly met with the player’s agent Alessandro Lucci and are expected to meet an agreement which would go through when Atleti’s registration ban is lifted at some point next year.

The Colombian international had brief loan spells in Spain at Granada, then in Segunda, but failed to find the net in seven appearances and struggled to make a name for himself at Los Cármenes.
However, since then Muriel has flourished during stints at Udinese, Lecce and Sampdoria.
The 26-year-old has scored an impressive 43 times in Serie A return and has also been heavily linked with the likes of Italian giants Lazio and Inter.

Speaking to Radio Magica, the young forward talked up the interest surrounding him; “I’ve received many offers,” he added. “I have proposals from Juventus, Inter, AC Milan and Roma. Spanish and English clubs have been making offers as well.”
The former Udinese man has been a revelation at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris this season racking up an impressive 12 goals and 9 assists in all competitions.
