Manchester United travelled to Burnley after a very turbulent week of speculations and disastrous press briefings by the Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho.

Following the loss at Brighton and the hard to take home defeat to Tottenham, Jose Mourinho stormed out of the post-match press conference after he was questioned of his character and players relationship, he deserves respect, but he shouldn’t be the one asking for it; when you have to shout to win an argument, it most times shows you don’t have a valid point.

Burnley will never be the right benchmark for a club like Manchester United regardless of form or league position, Manchester United remains Manchester United and Burnley remains Burnley.

Apart from the emotional blunder from young striker Marcus Rashford, Manchester United were perfect.

Paul Pogba missed from the spot and two goals hero Romelu Lukaku could have had his hattrick but bottled a couple of one on one chances, United were effective and deserved the result, now they can build on that after the international break.

They have been drawn to play Juventus and Valencia in Europe, there won’t be any excuse whatsoever, they must advance and see what happens afterwards; for Rashford, it has happened to the best of people, sometimes you have to stand up for yourself, Barnsley should have been off too, no justification for Rashford’s remonstrations but he can learn from that.
