Australia midfielder Arzani signs for Man City from Melbourne

Manchester City have completed the signing of Australia international midfielder Daniel Arzani from Melbourne City.

The 19-year-old is one of the fast-rising player in Australia winning the A-League's young player of the season award in 2017-18.

Arzani will be sent out on loan by City who are the parent club of Melbourne city.

The Iran born attacking midfielder is expected to join Scottish side Celtic.

Manchester City Football Group's managing director of global football, Brian Marwood, told the club's official website: "In a short period of time, Daniel has developed into one of Australia's brightest young stars and has demonstrated the drive and raw talent required for success at the highest level.

"This pathway was first forged by Aaron Mooy just two years ago, and we are all delighted to see another Australian-grown talent make this move."

Mooy signed for City in 2016 and moved to Huddersfield on loan six ays later, before the Australia international made the move permanent after the Terriers won promotion to the Premier League in 2017.

Arzani became the youngest Australian player to play at the World Cup when he came on as a substitute in their group matches against France, Denmark and Peru at Russia 2018.
